Optimism at it's best!

I just thought that I would share something funny with you that Caleb said to me today ...

We went to the grocery store this morning, there is usually a blind man seated at the entrance collecting funds for the blind association.....today he was not there.
Caleb asked loudly " Mommy where's the blind man?"
and even before I could answer him, his face lit up and he shouted with glee
"Yay! This means he can see now!!!"

How sweet is that? If he's walking about and not seated on the chair then logically he can see now
I hope that you are all having a lovely weekend filled with little miracles

Smart habit Saturday
My week went pretty well, I managed to take lunch each day to work with me, I bought a small cooler bag as a lunchbox to encourage me to take cooldrink and/or ice water with me too - I really should drink more water!
In the interest of saving money, I aslo set up all my accounts on the internet so that I can pay these without going into the store and spending money on unnecessary things!!! Fabulous!

This week I am going to go back to trying to clean the kitchen before bedtime, clear and wipe all surfaces.

Enjoy your week!

And one of my new years resolutions (...actually my only resolution so far ) is to get orginized!

The only way I can achieve this is going back to smart habits....and since I truly need to save money at the moment,
I am going to make a commitment to take lunch to work.....healthy lunch eachday!

So for the following week, I am going to make lunch for myself eachday to take to work.

Christmas Wishes

Busy Boy

Caleb was very busy today...

He covered himself in custard and said he was the custard monster! The custard monster had to have a bath at 3 in the afternoon and put his PJ's on! The custard monster left delightful custard handmarks on mommy's cream couch and curtains!
When mommy expressed her displeasure with the newly decorated furniture.....the custard monster sulked and (all of 3yrs old) told mommy that " You just don't understand me"...and "you don't ever listen"

Where does he get this from?! Somebody call the child welfare!
I was gutted.....I have a son whos 3 going on 13!

Anyway, he's asleep now....I think he is feeling poorly as he went to bed really early and has a bit of a cough...shame....my little monster

I know I should have taken a photo....but I just couldn't think staright at the time - LOL!

Social networking

Social networking   ...because I should get out more often...LOL!

No really, I found this social networking site for mommies, called mommiesville, try it, you'll probably like it as much as I do
It's american based. So everyones on it at odd times - hahaha! Time difference is a funny thing.

It's our end of the year office function tomorrow at work.....afternoon Kareoke......and we have to dress up!
......give me strength! It's ok - I will survive....just thinking that I will be on holiday for 3 weeks is motivation enough

'Tis the season...

It's been a while, I know....I can't believe how quickly time flies! I imagine that if I was more orginized, I'd have more time....but I seem to have most things under control. Just this time of the year one tends to be alot more sociable for some reason and it's almost impossible to be sociable and keep a regular schedule.
Plus 24hour internet is way too destracting - LOL!

You know, I have a flickr account, where I upload my photography. well recently I found a wonderful tool called flickr toys, which is such fun to play with! These are the sort of things you can do with your photographs:

Happy Thanksgiving

We don't celebrate thanksgiving in South Africa.....ofcourse. But I sure wish we did.

I have so much to be thankful for today! I wish I could celebrate it with my family....
because they are what I am most thankful for! I love my family so much!

Enjoy your thanksgiving, my American friends

And everyone else...take a moment to think about what you have to be thankful for in your life today...

Bethany the screen siren ;)

Since Bethany enthused about my tea party idea.......and since I've been doing these all week and am in the swing of things

Here is Bethany photoshopped into 1940's glamour girl......this literally took me 10 minutes.
I think Bethany is a natural

Hooray for the weekend!

Somehow I managed to keep it together this week......it's all been a bit out of control lately, but this week I managed to keep the laundry in check, washed, folded AND packed away (that's my biggest thing!) My kitchen is clean, my house is in a reasonable state.......you'd almost think I was orginized or something
Well, I try.

The weather has been crazy here, it's SUPPOSED to be summer and yet it has been cold and rainy.......today the sun is shining but it's so very windy -  we can't even go outside! Come on summer...................

It's has been a week since I was struck by inspiration......and I've spent most of this time photoshopping glam pics of other people who loved my glam pic examples so much
So, I haven't even started that tree mural yet....but it will be done and I'll definatley blog it!

Enjoy your weekend.

Inspiration!

I've been inspired this week....and all fired up to get started Yay!

Firstly, I had this vision as I walked past the blank white wall in my lounge...(um ...living room) of painting a mural of a sihouette of a tree....with many branches. Then putting up black and white framed photographs of every one dear to me in my life....and I call it - THE TREE OF (my) LIFE.
Can't wait to get started on it....heres a quick example "sketch" of what I'm imagining:

Secondly, and along the same sentimental vein I am going to throw a tea party, for the woman closest to me in my life. I've always had this image in my mind of having enlarged B&W photos of my closest friends in 1940's hollywood screen siren style....something like these (I was having fun in photoshop) :

So I plan to have a proper garden tea party and have everyone dress up in hats, gloves and feather boas....anything glitzy and glamourous and then take photos with my new camera that I absolutely will purchase with my bonus this year! It's all so exciting!
